Nissan Design Challenge
Nissan, in its ongoing search for innovation, set a Design Challenge at my Design school; to come up with car accessories for the new version of their Nissan March. Through design thinking and a lot of research involving needfinding techniques we developed 'Meeting'. A millennial focused stereo system embedded in the parcel tray of the vehicle that turned this overlooked accessory into a place for picnic and outdoor moments with friends and family. The main tray comes with enough space to share snacks and hold cups while under the main structure you can find a waterproof blanket that's perfect to sit on any surface.

Idea
Through our research we observed that in city cars as small as the Nissan March the parcel tray went missing or got discarded after a few months or years of use because users didn't find it useful, especially when it was time to make room for cargo in the trunk. The sound device works through induction.
A simple principle that allows the user to rest any cell phone or music device on top of a designated surface and the device translates the sound waves into an electronic signal that is then played by a pair of speakers built into the tray. Amplifying the signal without any sort of bluetooth connection of sorts. Allowing users to switch their cellphones with ease when someone left the party, to answer a call or simply use their phone.
