Chile 19
Chile 19
In this 1:45-minute short, I aim to capture a lost moment of revolt and revolution in Chile's history, where fleeting hope was overshadowed by tear gas, human rights violations, and a return to the status quo. Fast forward to the present day, after the failure of two constitutional processes and a polarized political climate, the country wanders with no clear direction.
Using documentary-style hand-held cameras and poetic portraits, I pay homage to Patricio Guzman and Raul Ruiz, highlighting the beauty that can emerge even in polarized times. These were the last images I left with before migrating to the US.
